Welcome to Glazier Elementary School! We are looking forward to an exciting year at our school.

You will find that we have made great progress toward increasing student achievement through our District's Literacy Initiative. Our staff is implementing reading strategies to increase comprehension in all subject areas. We are continually striving to create the most effective learning environment for all of our students. The Glazier staff has been working hard in creating meaningful classroom environments for students, which include an organized classroom library, a print-rich environment, meaningful co-created charts that are utilized for interactive learning, cooperative seating arrangements to promote academic talk, and meeting areas that support small group, large group, and individual grouping for a more personalized instructional setting. These elements of the classroom will promote student engagement as well as create a sense of community for our students.

A Leadership Team comprised of administrators, literacy coaches, and demonstration teachers are working with consultants to create a balanced literacy program that would be highly effective in all levels of education. The teachers and support staff are modeling various reading strategies to assist in increasing student comprehension. These strategies are also shared and modeled with our parents and the community to keep them abreast of the latest strategies used with our students.

We anticipate increased success in the academic school year for our students as we continue to analyze student data and focus our efforts on meeting our students' needs. Glazier offers several different enrichment programs after-school which includes our Gladiator After-School Enrichment program, Glazier Music and Art Academy, Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) enrichment activities, and the Gladiator Academy geared to work with our students who need extra assistance academically.

Glazier is continuing to move forward as we build capacity and increase support and achievement for our students in all areas of our academic program!
