Open Enrollment Changes

The Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District’s Open Enrollment policy is changing
These changes apply only to students who are applying for new permits. Students who currently have approved permits, will not be affected by these changes. Please also note that this change in policy eliminates year-round Open Enrollment. The only opportunity for your student to transfer will be during the Open Enrollment period. District Advisory Committee Information and Application

On Monday, October 21, 2019, the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, Board of Education directed staff to form a District Advisory Committee to study declining enrollment in the District and to make recommendations regarding re-alignment of school attendance boundaries and possibly school closures. Costume Parade

Students will get a chance to show off their Halloween costumes during the Costume Parade on Wednesday, October 31st beginning at 8:30 a.m. Judges will be looking for winners for Most Original, Scariest and Funniest Costume. Parents are welcome to observe the parade but are asked to sign in as a visitor in the office.

Aug. 16 is First Day of School for All NLMUSD Campuses

The first day of school is Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018. All 28 campuses in our district, which encompasses the cities of Norwalk, La Mirada and a portion of Santa Fe Springs, are still accepting new students.

For enrollment information, including required documents such as birth certificates, immunization records and proof of residence, visit www.nlmusd.org/sfs/ or email enroll@nlmusd.org or call 562-210-2102.
