If your child is absent for ANY reason, it is your responsibility to send a note with your child when they return to school.

• Please include your child’s full name, teacher's name, absence date and reason for the absence.
• If the absence is not verified within 10 days it will be recorded as truancy on your child’s attendance record.
• You may also call the school office at (562) 210-2890 to report an absence or send an email to [email protected] 

Cuando su hijo(a) falta a la escuela, recuerde que es su responsablidad de mandar una nota cuando regrese el siguiente dia. 

• La nota debe de tener el nombre completo del estudiante, nombre del maestro(a), fecha de la falta y razón por la falta.
• Las ausencias no verificadas dentro de los 10 días, seran registradas como falta injustifica (vagancia).
• Puede llamar al (562) 210-2890 para reportar la ausencia o mande un correo electronico a [email protected] 

Please NOTE Unexcused Absences

The following are examples of unexcused absences:

• Family vacation during school calendar
• Babysitting younger siblings or taking care of other family members
• Personal problems or family emergency
• Funeral service of a non-immediate family
• Missed bus, no transportation, and car trouble
• Audition call back
• Forgot school schedule 
• Didn’t know there was school or student told parent there was no school
• Had to go with parent to DMV, court, passport renewal, etc. because there was no one else to bring student to school or pick him up from school
• Sibling or other family member is sick or has a medical appointment
